NetSuite POS & SCIS End of Life

NetSuite POS is being retired.
Your shoe store doesn't have to wait.

Oracle NetSuite is ending support for SuiteCommerce InStore (SCIS) and NetSuite Point of Sale (NSPOS). If you sell footwear or safetywear, this is the moment to move to a POS built for your business, not just the next system that plugs into NetSuite.

What's Happening

2029 sounds far away. A POS migration isn't.

NetSuite is moving away from building its own point-of-sale products and focusing on core ERP. Support for SCIS and NetSuite POS continues for now, but changing POS touches your stores, staff, payments, inventory, taxes, customer records, reporting and hardware. The earlier you plan, the less it costs you.

  1. AnnouncedEnd of lifeNetSuite confirms SCIS and NSPOS are being retired, with no in-house replacement planned.

  3. Mid-2027Be liveOur recommendation: switch in your slow season, with a full selling season of margin before support ends.

Your Options

Three ways forward after NetSuite POS

Most guides only list the first two, because most of them are written by vendors who still need you on NetSuite.

Option 1

Third-party POS + a NetSuite connector

A separate POS that syncs sales and inventory back to NetSuite through a connector.

  • Keeps NetSuite as your system of record
  • Two systems to license, maintain and keep in sync
  • The connector becomes one more thing that can break
  • Usually generic retail, not built for footwear
Option 2

Another POS built inside NetSuite

A replacement POS that runs natively on the NetSuite platform.

  • Closest to what you have today
  • No separate sync to manage
  • You stay tied to NetSuite licensing and its roadmap
  • Footwear features depend on what the vendor builds

Straight Talk

Is WinSale the right move for you?

We'd rather tell you now than three months into a project.

A great fit if you…

  • Sell footwear, work boots or safetywear
  • Run one or more stores, shoe trucks, or a web store
  • Sell to industrial accounts with employer subsidies
  • Mainly use NetSuite for POS, inventory and basic accounting
  • Want one system and one support team

Probably not a fit if you…

  • Need NetSuite as your ERP for manufacturing, multiple subsidiaries or other business lines
  • Require your POS to sync live into NetSuite
  • Mostly sell products outside footwear and safetywear

In those cases, a connector-based or NetSuite-embedded POS is likely the better route, and we'll say so on the first call.

Frequently Asked

NetSuite POS end of life questions, answered

When does support for NetSuite POS and SCIS end?

NetSuite partners report that support for SuiteCommerce InStore (SCIS) and NetSuite Point of Sale (NSPOS) ends on January 31, 2029. Confirm the exact terms for your account with your NetSuite account manager.

Will NetSuite release its own replacement POS?

Partners report that NetSuite has no in-house replacement planned and is focusing on its core ERP. Retailers are expected to move to a third-party or partner-built POS.

Does WinSale integrate with NetSuite?

No. WinSale is a complete system with its own inventory, accounting (AR, AP, GL), invoicing and eCommerce, so for most independent shoe and safetywear retailers it replaces what they used NetSuite for. If you need NetSuite as your ERP for other parts of your business, a connector-based or NetSuite-embedded POS may suit you better.

Can you move my data over?

We've migrated stores off RICS, Prism POS, RetailEdge, Square setups and legacy DOS systems. Call us with your current setup and we'll tell you straight what can come over. Product data is usually the easy part: our 10M+ UPC database fills in vendor, style, size and price as you scan.

How long does switching to WinSale take?

Most stores are running on WinSale within a week of signing up, and inventory onboarding can be as fast as 24 hours. Industrial accounts take a little longer because we set up your subsidy rules with you.

What does WinSale cost?

WinSale Basic is $399 per month and Pro is $849 per month with eCommerce and the B2B portal. No setup fees, no dealer markups, no per-transaction fees. See full pricing.

Should I wait until closer to 2029?

We wouldn't. Switching in your slow season, with time to train staff and run a full season on the new system, is far less risky than a rushed cutover near the deadline, when every other NetSuite retailer is migrating too.
